Tempelhof Airport
Berlin, Germany

Tempelhof Airport is a historic former airport located near the center of Berlin. Opened in the early 20th century and rebuilt in the 1930s, its massive curved terminal was once one of the largest buildings in the world and is a notable example of monumental airport architecture.

Tempelhof became internationally famous during the Berlin Airlift, when Allied aircraft delivered food and supplies to West Berlin after the Soviet blockade. The airport continued operating for commercial flights until 2008.

Today, the former runways and airfield have been transformed into Tempelhofer Feld, a vast public park where people cycle, skate, fly kites, and gather for events. The terminal building remains an important historic landmark and is used for exhibitions, cultural events, and temporary spaces.
